Why I’m giving up Threads

Has anyone used threads? Well if you have you might notice an uncanny resemblance to notes on the substack app. All apart for one tiny feature. People here care. They care about what you have to say, they engage and they present thoughts and opinions. This is how it should be If you want to start and spark a conversation.

I have been a “ creator “ influencer, blogger whatever the term is these days for over 8 years now and while I have watched the tides rise and fall in the world of Instagram I keep noticing something. They keep making more apps and features that drive away any growth and connection from the people you want to connect with. As part of my 2025 goal I want to slowly limit ( not fully replace ) Instagram with meaningful platforms, that could be Pinterest sharing recipes people will find and love. That could be writing more on my website for travel recommendations, shooting TikTok or reels I find inspiring and fun, and perhaps starting YouTube for long-form content and helpful tips for creators.

All this to say, if you are contemplating deleting Threads you are not alone. I would much rather post a note on this app and call it a day.
